Cellulite is also called adiposis edematosa, status protusus cuits, or dermopanniculousis deformans, cellulite is the term that defines a dimpled skin appearance caused by an amount of fat deposits found underneath the skin’s surface. - Hormonal Factors: in the development of cellulite, one of the major causes is hormonal factors. Experts say that cellulite development is caused by factors such as insulin, estrogen, thyroids hormones, noradrenalin, and prolactin.
- Diet:Diet is another major factor for cellulite development. People with improper diet are often prone to develop cellulite. Too much fat, salt, or carbohydrates but too little fiber intake can greatly cause cellulite formation.
- Lifestyle Factors: Like any other health concerns, lifestyle factors may also play a major role in cellulite development. Such factors include too much smoking or excessive alcohol intake. When you lead an inactive or sedentary lifestyle, it can dramatically affect your blood circulation as well as your venous and lymphatic systems. Your veins and lymph vessels depend on muscle contractions to function properly. Absence of movement will cause the blood and fluid in your veins and lymph vessels to stretch out. Overstretched vessels and veins can cause fluid retention, poor and leaking circulation. When you are inactive, it can also lead to weight gain which can make cellulite worse.
- Pregnancy:When you are pregnant, your body is going through drastic change, and this can often lead to cellulite. During pregnancy, you have an increase in fluid retention and a surge of hormones. These are capable of weakening connective tissues, including the ones in the walls of your lymphatic vessels and veins. As your growing womb that presses on the lymph vessels and veins can cause decreased circulation and lymph drainage.
- Medication:Certain medications can trigger hormonal changes in your body which can speed up the accumulation of fat in your body. Medications that can cause cellulite development are birth control pills, diet pills, and sleeping pills. You should check with your doctor before taking any of these medications, especially if there is a history of cellulite in your family.
- Smoking:This habit is destructive to your health in so many ways. If you smoke, try to make an effort to quit. Not only does it affect your lungs and heart, which can lead to cancer and other diseases, it also damages and weakens your skin. This can cause dimpling of your skin that’s associated with cellulite.
- Birth Control Pills: Birth control pills have also been found to cause the formation of cellulite in some individuals who are candidates for this condition. This is because some women retain a large amount of water when taking these drugs and this result in more toxic matter being retained within the body. As a result, these deposits end up being stored as lumpy fat under the skin or better known as cellulite.
- Hereditary: Hereditary has also been known to play a role in causing this hard fat in our bodies. This result in somewhat toxic waste being retained in the body and eventually will have to find a place to be stored. Those who are more prone to develop cellulite deposits will discover it appearing below the skin, but in different parts of the body as mentioned above.
Many factors can cause cellulite. Some of these things you can’t change, like genetics. But you can make a difference by leading a healthier lifestyle by exercising, not smoking and eating a balanced diet. These are the things that can effectively remove your cellulite.
